Here are some key challenges that our conference will address:

Are science and faith compatible?  Does biology supports or undercut human uniqueness?  Is there evidence that life and the universe were intelligently designed?

We invite you to explore these questions and more at The Francis Schaeffer Institute Lectures on Science & Faith: Friends or Foes? taking place on Friday, October 12 and Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Covenant Theological Seminary.

Sessions will explore the compatibility of science and faith; the impact of Darwinian evolution on ethics, society, and theology; debates over human origins and uniqueness; the scientific evidence for intelligent design in cosmology and biology; and C.S. Lewis's prophetic insights into the dangers of scientism.

Featured speakers include Dr. Jay Richards, co-author of The Privileged Planet; Dr. Ann Gauger, senior research biologist at the Biologic Institute and co-author of the new book Science and Human Origins; Dr. C. John Collins, Professor of Old Testament at Covenant Theological Seminary and author of Did Adam and Eve Really Exist?; Dr. Hans Madueme, Assistant Professor of Theological Studies at Covenant College; Dr. Paul Nelson, Adjunct Professor of Science and Religion at Biola University; and Dr. John West, editor of The Magician's Twin: C.S. Lewis on Science, Scientism, and Society.

This conference will be of special interest to seminary students, college students, and pastors and other church leaders.  In light of this great opportunity, would you please consider spreading the word about this event to your students, church members, and/or colleagues?  If so, we have a variety of promotional materials you may use, including flyers (that can be used as bulletin inserts); postcards; posters; a PowerPoint announcement slide; and email announcement text.  If you would like any printed materials, please let me know so that I can fulfill your request in a timely manner.
