Elaine Donnelly, President and Founder of the Center for Military Readiness, reports that in May, what was probably the first same-sex "marriage-like ceremony" on a U.S. military base took place in a dedicated chapel at Fort Polk, Louisiana. This controversial, divisive event contravened the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and Louisiana state law, which defines marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
Last week, Senators Roger Wicker (R-MS) and James Inhofe (R-OK) introduced S. 3526, Military Religious Freedom Act of 2012 (MRFPA). This free-standing legislation replicates language that the House approved in May, as part of its version of the FY 2013 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to protect marriage and religious liberty in the military.
Since the issue would be an uncomfortable vote for some Democrats, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) may not allow it to move to the floor. But if a large contingent of Republicans (and perhaps a few Democrats) co-sponsor the free-standing legislation, Ranking Member John McCain (R-AZ) and other Armed Services Committee members would have a stronger hand in protecting the House language in the NDAA conference committee this fall.
Take Action!
Please urge your Senators to co-sponsor the Wicker/Inhofe bill, S. 3526. (Staffers will still be in both D.C. and District Offices during the upcoming Congressional recess and will advise their bosses if there are a large number of phone calls and/or emails on this topic.)

Why is it this was not in my mail from STLTea?
I will spread this around.
You know, it's funny how religious leaders who are lenient on the marriage, totally ignore the Word on this issue.
It is in the Epistles, which speak directly to us in these times.
And government has NO RIGHT OR STANDING concerning this, for certainly it does NOT break any Constitutional law!
And to both entities (I will add the Courts),
a reminder/announcement!):
We are a Republic, not a Democracy!
